In 1997, the President and CEO of SEA Utensili Diamantati S.p.A. in Cadelbosco Sopra (RE - Italy), Ernesto Salsi, and thePResident and CEO of DISCO CORP. of Tokyo (Japan), Kenichi Sekiya, Decided in 1997 to improve the performance of their respective companies to increase their competitive edge on the international markets, successfully meeting this exciting challenge.

The positive results of this synergy can be seen in the production of innumerable lines of diamond tools to meet any customer need, the application of customised technological solutions for resolving particular problems, and high level after-sales service: three elements that excellently complete the range of the services offered by the SEA group.

Mission

The SEA GROUP appears to have reached its main goal, i.e. to be considered the leading name in its field worldwide.

But in fact, constantly new objectives are set as a vital necessity for the GRUOP's top management, also considering the current phase of re-arrangement of the international market.

Innovative solutions in the areas of production, sales and communication are analyzed daily by the technicians and experts of the GROUP in its various offices, taking advantage of the local reality in which they are situated but at the same time never losing contact with the more global dimensions of the market. The Group's current focal point is that of complete customer satisfaction at all levels, from the offer of the product to that of after-sales service.

History

SEA, Societa Emiliana Abrasivi, was founded in 1973 by Ernesto Salsi, producing abrasive products for stone polishing.

At the beginning, SEA comprised a total of ten people.

1976 was the year in which Mr. Salsi decided to make an important step: to change to type of production.

From traditional abrasives in magnesite to diamond tools. The sector remains that of stone cutting and working; it is the too that has changed.

Salsi, who remained the sole owner of SEA, decided to expand the structure of the young company.

Joining the team were Giampiero Seghezzi, Domenico Turri, Paolo Azzimondi and Marco Caspani. These men enabled SEA to conquer a market, which was then an emerging one with respect to the abrasives market, which had become somewhat static, with extensive competition and a lack of innovative technological content.

The efforts of the 'historical group' were extraordinary, and in 1978 the first disk created by SEA was born.

The 1980s were decisive years for SEA, which successfully entered the foreign markets.

In 1993, SEA became a joint-stock company.

In 1997 another important turning point marked the life of SEA. The Disco SEA Group was born, as a result of the partnership with the Japanese company DISCO Corporation, represented by Disco SEA Europe Srl, specialized in the marketing of diamond tools for the Civil Engineering and Building Field.

In October 2004 the last important agreement was signed, which brought about the merger of Disco-SEA Europe and SEA. As a consequence, the Disco SEA Europe Brand became the seal of the new division of SEA Utensili Diamantati Specifically meant for Construction and Civil Engineering. In the meantime the work and devotion of the foundation members, who hold key positions in the company, contributed to establish and consolidate SEA's headquarters in Europe and all over the world.
