M. L. Shah & Co. are leading manufacturers of Granite & Stone Processing machines. The key persons spearheading the company's operations are Mr. S. M. Shah, Director, B. Tech (I.I.T.) Bombay, M.S. from Syracuse University, U.S.A. & Mr. G.M. Shah, Director, M.B.A., U.S.A.

The Group was founded in 1964 with one guiding principle: to achieve the maximum in quality and cost efficiency by using in-house technologies created for the capacities required and the conditions prevailing.

We have remained in the forefront of the Indian stone industry ever since and have continuously expanded our horizons, establishing many milestones in the process.

We have currently 9 office throughout India and one in Singapore.

The Company has a well-equipped factory at Ambernath in terms of machinery as well as human resources. The factory is equipped with a computerised design department, mother machines of the best make and adequate testing facilities.

Group Overview - History

In 1973, initiated design of stone processing machinery and designed the Horizontal Slicing Machine - Model SLM-1 - the first indigenous machine that could saw raw granite blocks.

In 1976, Shah Granites Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated - the first company to process granite with indigenous machines and successfully sell polished granite to the building industry all overIndia.

In 1978, M. L. Shah & Company, pioneered manufacturing of stone processing machinery in India and manufactured and sold an entire Plant to a company in South India.

In 1980, Stay Sharp Diamond Tools Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated and manufacture of Diamond Cutting Tools for marble and granite commenced. It was the first company in india to develop tools indigenously (without any technical collaboration from abroad).

In 1987, M.L.Shah & Company exported the first Cantour Grinding Machine to a company in U.S.A.

In 1991, M.L.Shah & Company exported a complete Plant for Processing Granite to a company in the Phillipines - the first Indian Company to export to Philippines.

In 1996, M.L.Shah & Company exported several sophisticated machines to a company in Holland - the first Indian company to export Stone Processing machinery to Holland.

Our Group is committed to all aspects of the natural stone industry with specialisation in granite and ceramic finishing. We have chosen to expand and improve this activity concentrating and nurturing our strengths rather than diluting them.

• Patent No. 167412 dated 16/5/1988 for Contour Grinding Machine.

Development of Foreign Markets

The Group is a global exporter having established markets in South East Asia, Middle East, U.S.A., U.K., Ireland, Israel, Holland and Germany.

The Company has been exporting machines to Europe, South East Asia, U.S.A. and The Middle East.

The Company has a marketing tie-up with Jan Reek Trading B.V., Netherlands, to represent the Company in Western Europe for its full range of machinery. Jan Reek Trading B.V. is a 103-year old company and is a leading manufacturer of vacuum lifting equipment.

We are the only Group in India and possibly one of the very few worldwide who are fully vertically integrated in the stone industry:
