Dumpers are tucks with caissons, widely used to haul blocks and debris. The dumpers can be rigid or jointed. The rigid dumpers normally have a sheet metal, two- axis caisson able to load up to 25 cubic meters. The jointed dumpers consist of two units with an articulation joint, and can maneuver sharp curves. The rigid dumpers are usually preferred. A fleet of dumpers is deployed along with an Excavator for handling of debris from the quarry. The debris is loaded by the excavator in the dumper. The dumper then transports the debris to the muck-dumping yard and unloads the same there. The tilting of the dumper body for unloading is carried out by means of pneumatic tele- hoists. Dumpers are not always owned by the quarry company but are often rentals.
