Core Drill are machines used to carry out core boring on marble, granite , limestone, sandstone, slate and other natural stone quarries. Core Drill machine is capable of drilling holes of larger diameters, usually ranging 2" to 8", into all kinds of rocks. Core Drills are used to explore the subsoil prior to commencement of quarrying operations. By using a Core Drill, it is possible to assess the material characteristics, namely, color, structure, presence of cracks and defects, etc. before opening a quarry. The Core Drill consists of a tubular structure moving on a trolley. The Core Drill is usually an air-flushed Drill which is driven by compressed air. The compressed air pressure required by the Core Drill is provided by an air compressor. Some Core Drills are also having a hydraulic control unit powered by an electric motor or an engine. The boring rod used in the Core Drill for boring is usually of 1.5 m length and used in sequence to achieve the desired depth of hole. The Core Drill can be used for vertical, horizontal or inclined boring.
